Spirit of Truth V Spirit of Error

Insight To His Sight: Recognizing God’s Purpose For You

Chapter: Discernment of The Spirit of Truth V The Spirit of Error (Pages 195-198)

One of the most powerful truths that I have come to know along my journey is the truth that gives us discernment between good and evil. I have found myself being manipulated at various times over the course of my life and find strength in now, knowing the difference between those who are with Christ and those who denounce Christ.

It is very apparent. At times I wish that I did not know the difference so that I could just not think about it in my every day life, but it is the only way to stay the course with a mindset of pure clarity. Being razor sharp is a feeling that allows us distinguished between people and aspects of life that are beneficial and those that are harmful.

Everyone has so much to offer to the world, and by striving to live wholeheartedly in all that we say and do, we can grow exponentially in stature and wisdom— wisdom that only comes from God. It does not take a super intellectual person to figure this out. It only takes a little desire for the truth. God does not ask for much, but a little time for Him. By spending a few moments with Him, we begin to understand fully and become a new person. It is a change from the inside out. It is a change that allows us to perceive all things.

“But we have renounced the things hidden because of shame, not walking in craftiness or adulterating the word of God, but by the manifestation of truth commending ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled to those who are perishing, in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”

2 Corinthians 4:2–4

“For God, who said, “Light shall shine out of darkness, “is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassing greatness of the power may be of God and not from ourselves; we are afflicted in every way but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; persecuted but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying about in the body of the dying of Jesus, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body. For we who live are constantly being delivered over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our mortal flesh.”

2 Corinthians 4:6–11

“Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day…while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal.”

2 Corinthians 4:16, 18

“For what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh, in order that the Law might be fulfilled in us, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. ”

Romans 8:3–4

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even on a cross.”

Philippians 2:5–8

“You believe that God is one. You do well; the demons also believe, and shudder. “

James 2:19

“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God; and every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not born from God; and this is the spirit of the antichrist, of which you have heard that it is coming, and now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world; therefore they speak as from the world, and the world listens to them. We are from God; he who knows God listens to us; he who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. ”
