Leap of Faith: Daily Lessons About Jesus Christ
Chapter: Islam/Christianity: The Key to Discovering Common Ground (Pages 379- “382”…Numerology..)
John 14:3-4 (For All the World)
“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know…
When it comes to the war between Islam and Christianity, we ought to be mindful of the solution of discovering common ground. How can we make sense of both? What is the key to seeing the two united into one?
When we consider the Dome of the Rock or the shrine located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem, we should be aware of the significance of this historical site. Looking back into history we see that structure has been refurbished many times since its initial completion in 691 Ce at the order of Umayyad Caliph Abd al-Malik. The site’s significance stems from religious traditions regarding the rock, known as the Foundation Stone, at its heart.
When we consider the dome, we should know its history. The very form of a rotunda, given to the Qubbat as-Sakhra, although it was foreign to Islam, attempted to rival the many Christian domes of its time. The inscription decorating the interior clearly displays a spirit of polemic against Christianity, while stressing at the same time Koranic doctrine that Jesus Christ was a true prophet. All this shows that rivalry with Christendom, together with the spirit of Islamic Mission to Christians, was at work at the creation of the famous Dome.
The structure is basically octagonal. It compromises a wooden dome, approximately twenty meters in diameter, which is mounted on an elevated drum consisting of a circle of sixteen piers and columns. Surrounding this circle is am octagonal arcade of twenty-four piers and columns.
Recall that many believe that Solomon’s Temple must be rebuilt before the second coming of Christ. What does the Bible say in regards to this humanistic theory? In Islam, this differs drastically from biblical prophecy. Be mindful.
And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass. And I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God, the Almighty, and the Lamb, are its temple. And the city has no need of the sun or the moon to shine upon it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb (His Words are your light in the darkness…)
Revelation 21:21-23 (nasb) (emphasis added)
So, my question is: according to the Bible, who is the cornerstone and the foundation stone? What does the foundation stone/cornerstone (seal/symbol) look like according to biblical facts? (Recall Moses and the burning bush.)
Having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together is growing into a holy temple in the Lord; in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit.
Ephesians 2:20-22 (nasb)
Have you not even read this Scripture: “The Stone which the builders rejected, this became the Chief Corner Stone; This came about from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes?”
Mark 12:10-11 (nasb) So, I ask again: who is the chief cornerstone?
Have those who built the temple at the Dome of the Rock paid attention to what the Bible says? Have you read the words so clearly written out in the Bible, according to prophecy? There are many distinct connections…Correlations…
This should be the key to proving what is correct according to God. Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the chief cornerstone? You should think long and hard about this simple question. What does the Bible say?
Key: All that God asked was that you give him credit for his work….
“And from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may smite the nations; and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe (Holy Grail)…. (Key Note: Artistic Design-Similar to the Dome) and on His thigh He has a name written, “King of Kings, and Lord of Lords.”
Revelation 19:15-16 (nasb) (emphasis added)
When we take a closer look at the Dome of the Rock, we should know the details behind the monument and regulations from an Islamic standpoint. Until the mid-nineteenth century, non-Muslims were not permitted in the area. Since 1967, non- Muslims have been permitted limited access; however, non- Muslims are not permitted to pray on the Temple Mount or carry any form of religious artifact or anything with Hebrew letters. The Israeli police help enforce this.
First of all, by regulating this site and persecuting, especially Christians and Jews, a line has been crossed that is completely unacceptable. By not striving to allow all religious faiths and peoples to see the site, you have gone against what the Bible has taught.
According to Islamic tradition, the rock is the spot from which Muhammad ascended to heaven accompanied by the angel Gabriel. Further, Muhammad was taken there by Gabriel to pray with Abraham, Moses, and Jesus. After Muhammad’s return, he called all who would believe him to join with him and be Muslim.
The Foundation Stone and its surroundings is the holiest site in Judaism. Just as Muslims pray toward the Kaaba at Mecca, the holiest site in Islam, Jews pray toward the raised platform on which the Dome of the Rock stands. Jews have traditionally regarded the location of the stone as the holiest spot on earth, the site of the Holy of Holies during the Temple period.
Let in be known that the Temple period has come and gone. In the kingdom to come there will be no temple, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. And you should know that God’s ideas of helping understand how the world was made by his son will be evident at the Revelation of Jesus…
Does this help in making sense of Islam, Christianity, and Judaism? It should. You will recognize Jesus Christ by this truth. It is a simple choice that each person is forced to make in their lifetime. What is the oldest source of information that we have in regards to the kingdom of heaven and all of creation? Have you asked yourself this question? At some point in everyone’s life, you must address the question of: What is this life all about? Who is the author and artist behind it all?
Psalm 18:2 says, “The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold” (emphasis added).
Now, tell me: do you deny that Jesus Christ is the Son of God?
Do not allow yourself to be misled any longer. Find your truth and your lamp…
May those with doubt and who have gone on rejecting Jesus awake and understand all things. May all of Islam know that Jesus cares for them. He has tried to show you the truth and to help you understand at all costs, the ultimate sacrifice… I ask that you give Jesus a chance from the bottom of my heart. Identify with Christ, and you will find the answers to all questions. We can find common ground and sort out the truth. It is simply a choice of whether or not you want to discover the Kingdom of God. The ball is in your court…No one can do it for you…
Revelation 3:20 (nasb) says, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will dine with him, and he with Me.”
