Do Not Judge According to the Ways of Man

Leap of Faith: Daily Lessons About Jesus Christ

Chapter: Do Not Judge According to the Ways of Man (Pages 145-148)

Second Samuel 22:31 says, “As for God, His way is blameless; The word of the Lord is tested; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him. For who is God, besides the Lord? And who is a rock, besides our God?”

When I read this scripture it brings to mind the topic of God. Who is God? How do we know God? Why do we rely on God for our source of truth?

Every person has been through struggles in their life, and there comes a time in each person’s life that we must decide to make a commitment to a higher power of some kind in order to get closure to issues that need to be resolved. In many cases throughout the course of my life, God has stepped in and made His presence known. There were times when I could not handle the issues on my own, and without some direction from God I would have been lost.

Life experiences are what form us into the people that we are today. Experiences, both good and bad, mold us into who we are and how we feel. Experiences also have a major impact on how we perceive the world around us. To begin to understand that we all have different experiences and perceptions is a dire necessity. Without being able to relate to other people we are not able to accept differences and grow from learning about one another. We need to be sensitive to race, culture, and ethnic backgrounds. I am exhausted with hearing and seeing people judge according to the color of someone’s skin. We are all part of God’s creation in which all people are equal.

As a society, we need to be focused upon embracing race and choosing to empower one another into being a success in the world that we live in. We need to work toward accepting differences more commonly and doing away with violence and hatred. The violence and hatred in the world are the two most significant causes of the ongoing conflict. Let us learn from one another as opposed to hating and judging according to our own human perceptions and interpretations. I have personally seen this too much over the course of my life, and it truly is the demise of a society.

We need to strive to embrace all of humanity and do the most with the resources that we have available. These resources are knowledge and wisdom, which I personally have chosen to gain from God. Without looking to God for answers, justice, truth, revelations, and closure, I would be lost. By beginning to learn, we are able to be carried into a new world with a new beginning where we discover the truth behind all things. By choosing to find God we are brought into a new light that reveals all that is hidden. My hope and prayer for each person in the world is to be able to enjoy this everlasting truth that comes from God.

We are all living on this earth together, and we need to all strive to be peacemakers as opposed to aggressors in all situations. If society would embrace this principle, then we would be able to walk through life without concern or worry that someone is going to harm us. The feeling that someone is after you is one that Satan uses to instill fear into the heart of man. We are not to ever use this tactic in order to obtain control. We are to walk through life with humble hearts and with humility.

If we could restructure our politics in a way that would seek our peace before all else we could accomplish much. The more we choose to be the aggressor, the more problems we will face in the United States. We are to uphold the commandment of God to overcome evil with truth. Regardless of differences in religion or culture, we need to be highly sensitive to different outlooks. We need to be sensitive as to how children from other countries outside of the United States are raised and what their perceptions are of the world that we live in.

One of the most important moments in my life has been seeking out my own understanding of what is truth. There is no greater feeling of relief than discovering what is true. We are to be seeking the truth in all things. As a society we are to never stop learning. The moment that we stop learning is when our country begins to fail. By instilling wisdom and truth, our society will flourish. By giving up and choosing to have a narrow mindset we will encounter more problems. The absolute truth is to be open and sensitive to all people. The goal is learn to learn and discern.

Everyone takes a journey in their life, and that journey is full of ups and down. We all encounter obstacles along the way, and we learn how to overcome those obstacles. God allows for obstacles to occur so that we may find truth in Him. He will never allow anything to happen in your life that you cannot handle. The truth is that with God life is eternal. With God there is no fear of death. We may see death around us and experience terrible tragedies over the course of our life, but with God their is a promise that we will all be together one day in a place where there is no longer any mourning or tears.

And He shall wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there shall no longer be any death; there shall no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away. And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.”

Revelation 21:4-5 (emphasis added) (nasb)

Let us never forget the God that we serve. Everyone ought to know that with God we are promised a place in the eternal kingdom, which has no end.

This is the truth and reassurance that we gain by trusting God above all men.
