Judgment and Light

Insight To His Sight: Recognizing God’s Purpose For You

Chapter: Judgment and Light (Pages 31-33)

Everyone who does evil hates the light. The true light that is given from God wards off and reveals all evil. If we think long and hard about this simple concept, we begin to understand. It is not a tough concept to grasp. God never intended for us to make things complicated. What is the source of all light?

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. And the earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. God called the light day and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.”

Genesis 1:1–5

“Behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to render to every man according to what he has done. I am the Alpha and Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end. Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city. Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying. “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.”

Revelation 22:12–16

“In the beginning was the Word and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being by Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was the life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness did not comprehend it.”

John 1:1–5

When we take a closer look at the first and last books of the Bible, we see that everything began with light. Light is the key that unlocks the doors to all knowledge by which the entire world will one day be judged. The true light that is symbolized by the sun. In the last book of the Old Testament, Malachi, we see where the “sun of righteousness” is specifically mentioned. The truth is simple yet astounding. To see the entire Bible connected and by one central source. To think for a minute that there was not a brilliant mind behind it all is impossible. His works are perfect, and His works are true.

“For behold, the day is coming, burning like a furnace; and all the arrogant and every evildoer will be chaff; and the day that is coming will set them ablaze,” says the Lord of hosts, “so that it will leave them neither root nor branch. But for you who fear My name the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall. And you will tread down the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day which I am preparing, “says the Lord of hosts.”
