Insight To His Sight: Recognizing God’s Purpose For You
Chapter: The Triumphs of Faith (Pages 247-249)
Key: Revelation 10:7
“But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel, when he shall begin to sound, the “mystery” of God, should be finished, as he hath declared to his servants the prophets…”
“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible…And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:1–3, 6
“And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins; but He, having offered one sacrifice for sins for all time, sat down at the Right Hand of God, waiting from that time onward until His enemies be made a footstool for His feet. For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.”
“Let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more, as you see the day drawing near.”
“Let your character be free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you,” so that we confidently say, “The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What shall man do to me?”
“And I saw coming out of the mouth of the dragon and out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false prophet , three unclean spirits like frogs; for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty. (“Behold, I am coming like a thief. Blessed is the one who stays awake and keeps his garments, lest he walk about naked and men see his shame.) And they gathered them together to the place which in Hebrew is called Har-Mageddon.”
My thoughts today are centered around what God expects out of us. I believe that without talking to our brothers and sisters about conflicts that may arise in our life, we begin to harbor feelings of resentment that in fact can create the most lonely place for any person. By discussing ideas, thoughts, emotions, and especially seeking advice from one another, we continue to grow closer to God. By understanding that we all have many of the same emotions and encounter many of the same challenges we can relate and find ways to resolve all issues. There is always a way to talk out problems as opposed to harboring ill feelings about anything in life.
(Mercy Ships) While on the ship, that is one truth that I have come to know very well. As challenges arise each day, so do many emotions and thoughts that I need to talk about. Without having God at the center, it would be a nightmare trying to let go. One thing that is for sure is that He desires us to hand all worries and concerns over to Him for He cares. He also loves to see us come together as one body and share our thoughts with one another.
He rewards us by allowing us to know that we do not need to live in fear. Fear is what causes us to be silent and to not discuss our problems. Fear is what Satan uses to keep us quiet. Be aware of this fact. Satan is the father of lies and wants to deceive us at all cost. In order to shut the power that that specific entity has down, we must strive to live what we believe by improving one another through striving to be Christlike. Not just saying, but once again doing. We must be there for one another as God is always an open ear to us.
