Truth Revealed By God
Chapter: King of Glory (Pages 18-21)
READ Romans 5:3-8. And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character, hope; and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will hardly die for a righteous man; though per- haps for the good man someone would dare even to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sin- ners, Christ died for us (NASB).
READ Isaiah 32:15-18. Until the Spirit is poured out upon us from on high, and the wil- derness becomes a fertile field and the fertile field is considered as a forest. Then justice will dwell in the wilderness, and righteous- ness will abide in the fertile field. And the work of righteousness will be peace, and the service of righteousness, quietness and con- fidence forever. Then my people will live in a peaceful habitation, and in secure dwellings and undisturbed resting places (NASB).
By studying these two passages, we see that God grants us perseverance through the most troubling of times. I myself have been tested many times and have had to endure much hardship. I have had to face events that, at that time, I did not understand. It took a lot of work and patience, listening carefully to God in order to make sense of what happened. Through my most difficult experiences, I learned the most. At the time, I did not want to face the obstacle, but it was God’s plan for me to overcome the adversity.
By now, comprehending what has spoken (Through His Word) to me from God, I understand what it means to have a secure dwelling place of quietness and confidence. Righteousness defines Christ, and if we strive to live righteously, we create building blocks for the city that God desires. Righteousness should be at the core of every household and every temple. For we are the body of Christ. He is our dwelling place.
Truth Revealed By God
Chapter: Light of The World (Pages 22-25)
READ Colossians 1:16-22. For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on the earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities– all things have been created by Him and for Him. And He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together. He is also the head of the body, the church; and He is the begin- ning, the first-born from the dead; so that He Himself might come to have first place in everything. For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and
through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven. And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds, yet He has now recon- ciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach (NASB).
READ Isaiah 60:18-19. Violence will not be heard again in your land, nor devasta- tion or destruction within your borders; But you will call your walls salvation and your gates praise. No longer will you have sun for light by day, nor for brightness will the moon give you light; But you will have the Lord for an everlasting light, and your God for your glory (NASB).
Regarding these pieces of scripture, we are brought into a new understanding of what God actually did in sending His Son, the first born of the dead, into the world. He did this to reconcile the sin of the world being hostile in mind and engaging in evil deeds. By choosing to honor Christ and His sacri- fice, we see that He is the head of the body which holds all of the other parts together. For the body to work, the head must always be focused and perfected, such as Christ. He has given His life in order that we should live according to God’s way. Having become fully human, God dwells in His body. For His body is the true light that comes into the world, by which we are all to live. This true light super- sedes all other forms of light that we know in our world. With the light of Christ in all His glory, there is no need of the sun or the moon to shine. He is the beacon which lights the way that we are to walk as believers in the Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit dwells in all believers and transforms us into a godly state, having a sound mind.
