Leap of Faith: Daily Lessons About Jesus Christ
Chapter: The Importance of Angels in the World (Page 93)
“But we do see Him who has been made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings.”
Hebrews 2:9-10 (nasb)
It is critical to recall this information in regards to Jesus…
In the Old Testament we find the phrase “angel of the Lord,” in which, in almost every case, this messenger is regarded as deity and yet is distinguished from Jehovah (Gen. 16:7-14; Gen. 22:11- 18; Gen. 31:11,13; Exod. 3:2-5; Num. 22:22-35; Judg. 6:11-23, 13:2-25; ) The pre-incarnate Logos, his appearance in angelic or human form foreshadowing His coming in the flesh.
He says in Revelation 22:16 (nasb): “I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright morning star.”
This is how we can begin to understand the magnitude of the testing that Jesus endured while here on earth. He came as a man, for a little while lower than the angels. Can you begin to imagine the deception that he faced?
It must have truly been beyond words…

Chapter: Sun of Righteousness (Pages 99-100)
“Behold, I am going to send My messenger (An Angel to Test the World), and he will clear the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, will suddenly come to His temple; and the messenger of the covenant, in whom you delight, behold, He is coming,” says the Lord of hosts. But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? For He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap.”
Malachi 3:1-2 (nasb) (emphasis added)
You have said, “It is vain to serve God; and what profit is it that we have kept His charge, and that we have walked in mourning before the Lord of hosts?”
Malachi 3:14 (nasb)
Those who have maintained the charge receive the eternal kingdom of heaven as their reward.
Key Book: A symbol of high culture and religion; as the container of revealed wisdom, designated as “the Holy Book.” The universal judge (Greek pantocrator) of the Last Judgment is usually portrayed with a book in his hand in which all the deeds of humanity are recorded; it bears the ALPHA and OMEGA on its cover…” The Book of Revelation is considered a “book with SEVEN SEALS” which can be broken only with divine inspiration…” (Reference the Dictionary of Symbolism-Hans Biedermann-Translated by James Hulbert…)
The book of remembrance:
“Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another, and the Lord gave attention and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before Him for those who fear the Lord and who esteem His name. “And they will be Mine,” says the Lord of hosts, “on the day that I prepare My own possession, and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him.” So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.”
Malachi 3:16-18 (nasb) (emphasis added)
“But for you who fear My name the “Sun of Righteousness” will rise with healing in its wings; and you will go forth and skip about like calves from the stall.”
Malachi 4:2 (nasb) (emphasis added)
Now, let it be clear that there are two different understandings of the sun in the Bible from a symbolic standpoint. The first is the sun in regards to Islam, which is to prepare the way for the Messiah…In the Bible, the Bright Morning Star is to follow the Sun of Righteousness (Prophecy that helps us understand two different religions…) in fulfillment of prophecy. Allow this to be clearly interpreted. Be mindful of this point when we begin to address fulfillment of biblical prophecy. (The Sun Rising in the West…)
The human race needs to be aware that in order for all events to be fulfilled we needed to see all people tested, and then the Son of Man would arise with healing for all nations. People have been put to the test and those who remained true in their hearts, regardless of their jobs, will have their reward in full, granted by God. They earned it and did not take the easy way out…They listened and know the truth… Remember, the Bible tells us to make our rewards eternal and not of this world. The Son of Man allowed for the human race to make their own judgment in electing a leader…Think back to what has happened over the past 8 years…This was simply a test of faith to the human race. What type of hope and change was promised? What was desired? What was possible?
What would be the consequences for an attack on an a messenger of God? The Angel of the Lord? It should make the human race reevaluate their actions…God sees all and knows all…and has the ultimate and final say…
This should now be crystal clear to the entire country, and the world for that matter.
Remember also that each person had a role that needed to be fulfilled and that we serve a God of second chances. It is never to late to change. Everyone has an opportunity to have a change of heart and in return direct all actions toward serving God.
Life is a test.
Do not undermine the power of angels.
Psalm 91:11 says “For He will give His angels charge concerning you, to guard you in all your ways.”
