Lessons in the Wilderness…

God’s Secret: Disclosing God’s Hidden Truths of the Bible

Chapter: Lily Of The Valleys (Pages 25-28)

READ 1 Corinthians 15:56-58:

For sin is the sting that results in death, and the law that gives sin its power. But thank God! He gives us victory over sin and death through our Lord Jesus Christ. So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever use- less. (J. NLT)

READ Deuteronomy 30:6: “The Lord your God will change your heart and the hearts of all your descendants, so that you will love him with all your heart and soul and so you may live.” (J. NLT)

READ Deuteronomy 30:10: “The Lord your God will delight in you if you obey his voice and keep the commands and decrees written in this Book of Instruction, and if you turn to the Lord your God with all your heart and soul.” (J. NLT)

READ Luke 24:46-49:

And he said, “Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and rise from the dead on the third day. It was also written that this message would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations, beginning in Jerusalem: ‘There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.’ You are witnesses of all these things. And now I will send the Holy Spirit, just as my Father promised. But stay here in the city until the Holy Spirit comes and fills you with the power from heaven. (J. NLT)

It is important to know that all work and effort for God results in rewards from God. An example of this would be the hidden kingdom where God resides. It is our job to take time to search for the knowledge that helps us to dis- cover the entrance into the kingdom of heaven. By searching and taking the path less travelled, there is a great reward. One must take a leap of faith in order to find God. Our heart is to be for God and not against God. Be not of the world, but be of God and you will discover His truth and wisdom. God has given us many books of instruction detailing how to live according to his purpose. He has made it clear throughout the Old and New Testaments of how we must live, pertaining to acts and character. Remain true by demonstrating your character to those in need and help others by exemplifying God’s nature.

God’s Secret: Disclosing God’s Hidden Truths of the Bible

Chapter: Lord God ALMIGHTY…(Pages 29-31)

READ Deuteronomy 1:6-8:

When we were at Mount Sinai, the Lord our God said to us, ‘You have stayed at this moun- tain long enough. It is time to break camp and move on. Go to the hill country of the Amorites and to all the neighboring regions- the Jordan Valley, the hill country, the western foothills, the Negev, and the coastal plain. Go to the land of the Canaanites and to Lebanon, and all the way to the great Euphrates River. Look, I am giving all this land to you! Go in and occupy it, for it is the land the Lord swore to give your ances- tors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and to all their descendants. (J. NLT)

READ Matthew 4:1-4:

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wil- derness to be tempted there by the devil. For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry. During that time the devil came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God. (J. NLT)

The truth about Jesus is that, even during the most testing and confusing of times, He overcame all adversity. He was able to read the Devil’s ways before the Devil even acted. He knew how the Devil would attack Him spiritually, and He used the power of the Holy Spirit to overcome the adversity. While Jesus was in the spiritual wilderness, He used his wisdom, granted by his father, to overcome the conniving ways of the Devil. The fact is that the Devil never stood a chance against the Son of God. Just as we read in Matthew we also read in the book of Revelation about Jesus overcoming this adversity. This is the truth, which remains within the Word of God. Jesus will once again overcome and command the Devil to doom. With one word Jesus will win this battle between God and Satan. The power of the mind is critical for us to remain on call and ready to face all adversity.
