He Who Became Sin On Our Behalf…

God’s Secret: Disclosing God’s Hidden Truths of the Bible

Chapter: Messenger Of The Covenant (Pages 51-55)

READ 2 Corinthians 6:16-20:

Wherefore we henceforth know no man after the flesh: even though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now we know him so no more. Wherefore if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things are passed away; behold, they are become new. But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ, and gave unto the ministry of reconciliation; to wit, that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto himself, not reckoning unto them their trespasses, and having committed unto us the word of reconciliation. We are ambassadors therefore on behalf of Christ, as though God were intreating by us: we beseech you on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God. Him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; that we might become the righteousness of God in him. (Pronouncing Parallel Bible)

READ 2nd Peter 3:1-10:

Dear friends, this is now my second letter to you. I have written both of them as reminders to stimulate you to wholesome thinking. I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles. Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following after their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation. But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with

you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare. (NLT)

During the last days, God will bring together all of those who have trusted in Him and have given Him their lives. All people must seek to be godly and to not be consumed by the wrath of God, for those who are able to stand in the time of testing will be those who will inherit the kingdom of God. Remember that we have all been reconciled to God by the sacrifice of Jesus who, knowing no sin, became sin on our behalf. He was brought into the world in order to learn our ways until the day when God said that it was time to stop. Jesus became fully human in order that we could better understand him and relate to him. This is how He saves those who have become so lost. It is our job to stay true to ourselves and to know that God is watching out for us. In the end, God will save those who are His children.
